Perhaps, just perhaps some change is coming…Democratic Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the city is hiring 100 additional police officers after Chicago suffered 40 shootings this past weekend.
However, as NBC reports, the weekend killings lifted the city to more than 500 homicides for the year so far. At the start of this month, police touted a 47 percent drop in homicides from August 2016 to August 2017.
