Governmental Authorities may want to weaken their currencies, but they have to do this in an orderly fashion over time, in order to avoid flash crash scenarios, they need to identify key areas to backstop their currency market ahead of time with massive size to prevent what occurred Thursday night in the British Pound. Intervening after the fact is useless for financial market stability.
