Featured items include handmade Tiropita (cheese filo triangles) for $10 per dozen, Spanakopita (spinach, onion, cheese filo triangles) also $10 per dozen, Tsoureki (braided Easter bread) for $10 per loaf, and Koulouria (twisted cookies with or without sesame) for $8 per dozen.
All proceeds benefit St Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Philoptochos Society’s local and national charities. (Philoptochos means “Friends of the Poor.”)

The Sandy Creek Patriots moved into the AAAA quarterfinals of the GHSA state basketball tournament with an 83-80 overtime win Tuesday night over Johnson of Gainesville.
The Patriots’ next test comes Thursday at Columbia, who downed the Fayette County Tigers 67-58 Tuesday night.
The McIntosh Chiefs saw their season come to a close in the AAAAA bracket Tuesday night with a 54-51 loss to Northside of Columbus
In the A Private bracket, Landmark lost 80-67 to Aquinas.

Qualifying starts Monday for local and regional offices in the primary and general elections that will be held later this year.

Dr. Jeffery V. Curtis, 53, of Peachtree City, passed away February 22, 2014.
He was a very well-known and respected physician, currently the Medical Director for The Doctor’s Office-Emory, practicing medicine in Peachtree City since 1992.
Dr. Curtis, formerly of Chattanooga, Tenn., graduated from Sprayberry High School, Marietta, Ga. in 1979. He earned his college degrees at Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, the University of Georgia and Oxford College of Emory University. He practiced medicine in West Palm Beach, Fla. before moving to Peachtree City.

Vincent Michael Rossetti, 60, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away along with his longtime friend and business associate Jeffrey Van Curtis, 53 and their flight instructor Willy Lutz, 69 on February 22, 2014 as a result of a tragic airplane accident at the LaGrange-Callaway Airport in LaGrange, Ga.

Robert A. DeMetz, a long time resident of Peachtree City, passed away on February 23, 2014.
Robert was the husband of Cathy DeMetz for 45 years. He was the father of Rob DeMetz of Newnan and Nancy DeMetz Close of Peachtree City; the father-in-law of Tracy Pryon DeMetz and Steve Close; and the grandfather of Mary Catherine DeMetz, Brianna Myatt, and Carleigh Myatt.

Fayetteville Police have arrested an East Point man in connection with the robbery of the CVS Pharmacy in Fayetteville on Christmas Eve.
The investigation is ongoing because police think Michael MacConaugha Jr., 20, is not the only one involved, detectives said.
During the incident MacConaugha walked into the store wearing a hooded sweatshirt talking on a cellphone, according to surveillance video. Police said MacConaugha told the clerk he had a gun and demanded money from the cash register, keeping his right hand in his pocket to indicate that he had a weapon.
