Before turning over emails to the State Department for review and potential public release, Hillary Clinton and her lawyers withheld thousands of emails Clinton said were clearly personal, such as those involving what Clinton described as "planning Chelsea's wedding or my mother's funeral arrangements, condolence notes to friends as well as yoga routines, family vacations." As it turns out, Clinton missed a category that was also withheld that could potentially be referred to as "Communications about work related emails sent from my personal server that are being blocked by the State Department"
The State Department confirmed Thursday that Clinton failed to turn over a copy of a key email that discussed problems that had occurred in communicating with the State Department due to the use of Clinton's private server. The email in question was exchanged on November 13, 2010, between Clinton and Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin. The context was that emails being sent from Clinton's Blackberry, that were being routed through her private server in the basement of her home, were being blocked by the State Department's spam filter (as a reminder, yesterday we discussed the fact in December of 2010, the State Department IT staff actually disabled security software on government networks in order to try and temporarily fix the issue).
At the time, as AP reports, the suggestion was made to Clinton to use a state.gov email account, but Clinton responded to Abedin by saying "Let's get separate address or device but I don't want any risk of the personal being accessible."
How the email was discovered is amusing. As mentioned, the above email was omitted from Clinton's approximately 55,000 emails turned over to the State Department – however, it was turned in by Abedin when the State Department requested Abedin's emails in March 2015.
Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon tried to downplay the issue, saying that Clinton provided "all potentially work-related emails" that were still in her possession when Clinton received the 2014 request from the State Department. "Secretary Clinton had some emails with Huma that Huma did not have and Huma had some emails with Secretary Clinton that Secretary Clinton did not have" Fallon added.
Judicial Watch, which has sued the State Department over access to public records related to Clinton's service as Secretary of State between 2009 and 2013, believes this revelation is a direct contradiction to statements Clinton made under oath, and could be an indication that there are further emails that Clinton did not turn over to the State Department.
"Contrary to her statement under oath suggesting otherwise, Mrs. Clinton did not return all her government emails to the State Department. Our goal is to find out what other emails Mrs. Clinton and the State Department are hiding."

To that, we simply say good luck to Judicial Watch. While the point Judicial Watch makes is certainly valid, the State Department has demonstrated its incompetence (or unwillingness) already when it stated it couldn't find a single email to or from Bryan Pagliano (the person who allegedly set up and maintained Clinton's server) for the entire time Clinton was Secretary of State.
If Judicial Watch can learn of key facts that were omitted by Clinton but given by Abedin, it will be interesting to find out what the FBI learned during its interview with Abedin that Clinton doesn't want anyone else to know.
