Almost four years ago, in November 2012, long before Donald Trump was considered a legitimate presidential candidate, the republican tweeted something which in retrospect was quite prophetic: “Pervert alert–serial sexter @RepWeiner is making another step towards a comeback All girls under 18 should block him.”

Today, Trump’s skepticism was justified, when Huma announced her official separation from Weiner, which led to the Republican presidential nominee’s commendation of Abedin’s choice to separate from her husband. “Huma is making a very wise decision,” Trump said in a statement. “I know Anthony Weiner well, and she will be far better off without him.”
Trump then tied in Hillary Clinton, casting the Democratic presidential nominee as a candidate with poor judgment. “I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information,” he said in the statement.
“Who knows what he learned and who he told? It’s just another example of Hillary Clinton’s bad judgment. It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this.”
As the Hill reminds us, Trump earlier this month called Weiner a “pervert sleaze” on Fox and Friends.
“What about the fact that Huma Abedin — who knows every single thing about Hillary Clinton, she knows more about Hillary than Hillary knows — and she’s married to a pervert sleaze named Anthony Weiner, who will send anything that he has out over Twitter,” Trump said on “Fox and Friends.”
The latest scandal involving Weiner comes just two months ahead of the upcoming Showtime documentary “Weiner”, which is set to launch on October 22, just two weeks before the election. As Vanity Fair notes, “Clinton herself isn’t featured in Weiner, which premieres in theaters this weekend and on Showtime later this year, but her right-hand woman, Huma Abedin—whom she once likened to her second daughter—sure is. And it would be hard to find a more apropos stand-in for the serially cuckolded Secretary Clinton than Abedin, who is repeatedly forced to swallow her pride, rage, and who knows what else in a grim effort to stand by her husband, Anthony Weiner, candidate for mayor of New York City.”
How the public may react to this show at a critical for the election period is unclear, but Showtime may consider preparing the sequel as this story is far from over.
