Starlink Raises Prices Due To “Excessive Levels Of Inflation”
Elon Musk has done it again. Within just a few weeks, Tesla, Inc. has raised prices on electric cars and lithium-ion battery packs. Now he’s raising prices for Starlink customers.
Blaming “excessive levels of inflation,” Starlink told customers in an email on Tuesday evening that the price of all Starlink kits will increase from $499 to $549 for deposit holders. For all new customers, all new orders will cost $599. Prices for the monthly service have also jumped from $99 to $110 per month.
“The sole purpose of these adjustments is to keep pace with rising inflation,” the email said.
Here’s the full email:
Just days ago, Tesla hiked the prices of its commercial rechargeable lithium-ion battery product, otherwise known as the “Tesla Megapack,” following a massive jump in industrial metal prices due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Earlier this month, Tesla has been hiking the price of its electric cars as battery costs become more expensive.
Frustrated with the commodity shock, Musk recently tweeted, “Tesla & SpaceX are seeing significant recent inflation pressure in raw materials & logistic.”

The cost of going green and realizing Musk’s dream of space internet is becoming more unaffordable by the week as commodity prices soar.
