A previously secret
Justice Department memo justifying the drone assassination of
U.S. citizen Anwar Al-Awlaki
was released today by a federal appeals court. The document
argues that neither the law nor the Constitution prevented the
president from ordering the killing. Its author, David Barron,
recently won confirmation as a federal judge. Hmmm…Wonder whether
he would have released the memo…
