I’ll be joining a small radio panel
today to discuss video games and their influence on politics and
economics on To the Point, a news program on Public Radio
International produced by KCRW in Santa Monica, California. The
discussion is scheduled for a little bit past 11 a.m. Pacific time
(that would be 2 p.m. Eastern).
Some issues that may come up may be inspired from some of our
recent coverage in “Video Game Nation,”
including the story of how Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) rallied
gamers to try to fight some bad anti-piracy legislation, what
we learned about the
politics of gamers in our recent polls, what
economists can learn from video games, and whether politicians
should be handing out
tax credits or subsides to game companies.
The website for To the Point is here. Tune in to hear us
talk about how central video games have become to American
culture.
