Clinton-supporting comedian, Amy Schumer, known for her raunchy material, drew outrage from fans in a recent Tampa, Florida appearance when she began bashing Trump whom she referred to as an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake-college-starting monster.” According to the Tampa Bay Times, the Trump bashing drew loud booing from her fans, about 200 of whom chose to leave while others were kicked out by Schumer who told security to remove anyone booing.
According to the The Hill, Schumer took multiple shots at Trump’s “lewd” comments saying that she loves a “famous guy that will just take me furniture shopping and just
straight up grab my pussy.” But when her own fans started to turn on her, Schumer called on security to remove anyone “yelling out.”
“A famous guy that will just take me furniture shopping and just straight up grab my p—-,” Schumer added, referencing a controversial
2005 recording of Trump uncovered by The Washington Post earlier this month.
“Of course, we’re in Florida, you’re going to boo,” she said at the Amalie Arena in Tampa. “I know you’re here to laugh, but you choose how you’re going to live your life, and it’s just too important.”
“Just so you know, from now on, if you yell out, you’re gonna get thrown out,” added Schumer, who supports Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Many comedians have made careers out of openly bashing politicians on one side of the aisle or the other (though “shockingly” conservative candidates seem to bear the brunt of the attacks) while hiding behind the veil of comedy. The problem, of course, is that when the comedy fails to be humorous then it is no longer a comedy show but a political hit job. Which is apparently what fans thought of the comedian’s efforts when she brought a guest on stage and questioned how he could possibly be a Trump supporter.
Schumer also invited a Trump supporter onstage, asking the man to explain why he wants the billionaire to become president.
The man, who identified himself as Dave, insisted he could not trust Clinton and that the country would be safer under Trump’s watch.
“Do you get worried at all with how impulsive he is?” she asked him of Trump. “That he gets so fired up from ‘Saturday Night Live’ doing a skit on him. … Do you worry he’ll be impulsive and get us in a lot of f—— trouble we can’t get out of?”
Given the coordination between the Clinton campaign and various media outlets revealed in the “Podesta Emails,” one has to wonder whether this was also a coordinated “hit.” We wonder what would happen if a comedian launched a similar “hit” on Clinton.
