Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger blasted President Trump for sullying the legacy of another former California governor – Ronald Reagan – by refusing to stand up to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting of the two leaders in Helsinki on Monday.
The “Terminator” star expressed his disdain in a video posted on Twitter, where he called the appearance “embarrassing.”

Schwarzenegger accused Trump of insulting the US intelligence community and justice system – which has indicted more than two dozen Russian intelligence agents – and even the country itself during the conference. The Terminator also said that Trump is nothing like Reagan, the iconic Republican president with whom Trump loves to compare himself favorably.
“I mean, you stood there like a little wet noodle, like a little fan boy, I mean… I was asking myself when are you going to ask him for an autograph or a selfie or something like that? I mean, you literally sold out to this press conference our intelligence community, our justice system and worst of all our country.”
“You’re the President of the United States you shouldn’t do that. What’s the matter with you?’ Whatever happened to the strong words or to the strength of Ronald Reagan, when he stood there at the Berlin wall and said: Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall? What happened to all that?”
Schwarzenegger’s tweet received more than 14,000 retweets and more than 44,000 likes.
Trump has been bombarded with criticism over his meeting with Putin and the ensuing press conference from Republicans and Democrats alike, and was accused of siding with Putin over US intelligence agencies. Setting the stage, the DOJ unveiled indictments against 12 Russian intelligence officers that purportedly helped infiltrate the DNC and the Clinton campaign just days earlier.
So far Trump has been quiet, and has yet to tweet this morning.
