Politico’s Glenn Thrush, the “journalist” who was repeatedly exposed by WikiLeaks for shamelessly colluding with the Clinton campaign, has been hired by the New York Times to cover the White House. In confirming the move with The Huffington Post, the NYT’s Elisabeth Bumiller described Thrush as a “premier political journalist” and “master of breaking news.”
“We’re thrilled that Glenn Thrush is joining The Times,” Elisabeth Bumiller, the paper’s Washington bureau chief, said in a statement to The Huffington Post. “He’s a premier political journalist, a master of breaking news and long-form story telling and a stellar addition to our White House team.”
At the Times, Thrush will be reunited with former Politico stars Jonathan Martin, Alexander Burns and Maggie Haberman, who he recently interviewed for his podcast. His hiring suggests that the paper is turning to reporters with tabloid roots to cover an incoming president reared in New York’s media culture. Thrush previously worked at Newsday while Haberman, who has covered both Trump’s campaign and his transition, previously worked at the New York Post and Daily News.
Thrush had been considering a move for some time, according to sources, though decided to stay at Politico through the 2016 election.
The departure comes amid a series of post-election changes at Politico.
So, just to be clear, the New York Times’ definition of a “premier political journalist” is one who repeatedly breaks internal protocols and policies to shamelessly collude with one side of the aisle while openly admitting to being a “hack” and therefore completely devoid of any sense of journalistic integrity?
As a quick reminder, WikiLeaks revealed that Thrush sent the following email to Podesta back in April 2015:

Tell me if I fucked up anything
We guess the New York Times’ vow to report “an honest reflection of reality” going forward rather than endlessly acting as an “echo chamber of liberal intellectualism” has already come to an end?
