The New Yorker has released audio of the profanity-filled phone call between reporter Ryan Lizza and former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci that helped lead to the latter’s firing.

Lizza on Thursday discussed the widely reported call with David Remnick, editor of the New Yorker. The two listened to excerpts from the Scaramucci conversation and analyzed what they said about the Trump administration.

Below is audio of the call and of Remnick’s segment with Lizza.

In the original phone conversation, which was first reported last week, Scaramucci called former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus a “fucking paranoid schizophrenic.” Priebus resigned the next day and was replaced by John Kelly, who had been serving as secretary of homeland security.

Scaramucci also castigated President Donald Trump’s chief strategist, Steve Bannon.

“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock,” Scaramucci said to Lizza.

“I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the president. I’m here to serve the country.”

Scaramucci also threatened to fire the entire White House communications team to find out who was leaking information to the press. Scaramucci was removed from his position on Monday, the same day that Kelly was sworn in as White House chief of staff, after just 10 days on the job.

HuffPost interviewed Scaramucci after his firing, and the ousted White House official explained his controversial comments.

“Most of what I said was humorous and joking,” Scaramucci said.

“Legally, it may have been on the record, but the spirit of it was off. And he [Lizza] knew that.”

At the end of the interview, HuffPost asked about Scaramucci’s next plans.

“I am now going to go dark,” he said.

And then?

“Then I will reemerge.” He paused. “As me.”
