Dramatic video has emerged of a Moscow cab driver driving onto a sidewalk and plowing into several pedestrians in Red Square – a key tourist destination for World Cup fans, before exiting the cab and sprinting away.

There were no fatalities, however eight people suffered injuries.
The driver, a 28-year-old Kyrgyz national, was arrested while authorities investigate the scene. Moscow police said in a statement that it appears the driver lost control of the vehicle. City traffic authorities posted a picture of the man’s license on Twitter:

In a subsequent tweet, authorities noted that the driver said that the incident was an accident.
