A day after the US House of Representatives rejected a hardline immigration bill (support for the measure tanked after President Trump tweeted that it was probably doomed in the Senate, anyway, thanks to Democratic opposition) and punted on a key vote on a comprehensive “compromise” immigration bill to next week with the hopes of securing 218 votes, President Trump tweeted Friday morning that Republicans should stop “wasting their time” on an immigration plan and instead wait until after the midterms to revisit the issue.
In a follow up tweet, Trump insisted that if we “elect more Republicans in November…we will pass the finest, fairest and most comprehensive Immigration Bills anywhere in the world.”
Elect more Republicans in November and we will pass the finest, fairest and most comprehensive Immigration Bills anywhere in the world. Right now we have the dumbest and the worst. Dems are doing nothing but Obstructing. Remember their motto, RESIST! Ours is PRODUCE!

Republicans should stop wasting their time on Immigration until after we elect more Senators and Congressmen/women in November. Dems are just playing games, have no intention of doing anything to solves this decades old problem. We can pass great legislation after the Red Wave!

The tweets included some standard Democrat-bashing, as Trump complained that “even if we get 100% Republican votes in the Senate, we need 10 Democrat votes to get a much needed Immigration Bill – & the Dems are Obstructionists who won’t give votes for political reasons & because they don’t care about Crime coming from Border!”
Even if we get 100% Republican votes in the Senate, we need 10 Democrat votes to get a much needed Immigration Bill – & the Dems are Obstructionists who won’t give votes for political reasons & because they don’t care about Crime coming from Border! So we need to elect more R’s!

Last night, Trump tweeted that “we have to maintain strong borders” or “millions of people will journey into our country.”
We have to maintain strong borders or we will no longer have a country that we can be proud of – and if we show any weakness, millions of people will journey into our country.

Immigration has been a seemingly inescapable topic for Trump this week, as the outrage among liberals over the administration’s “zero tolerance” policy – which resulted in 2,000 children being separated from their parents and detained at the border – pressured Trump into signing an executive order to end the practice. The media outrage over the immigrant situation at the border continued on Thursday afternoon after Melania Trump wore a green, hooded Zara military jacket that read “I really don’t care, do u?” both as she departed and returned to Washington. The words were printed in white, in graffiti-style, on the jacket’s back.
When asked what message the first lady intended to send, spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said: “It’s a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today’s important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn’t going to choose to focus on her wardrobe.”
Trump offered his own interpretation, tweeting that it “refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!”
