A Detroit police officer, who wasn’t named by media, has been reassigned and may face discipline after his K-9 partner died after being left in a patrol car on a warm day. The car’s heat alarm system failed, but Commander Darin Szilagy said the officer should have been checking on the dog every 30 minutes.
