“Devastating Accident”: Tesla Slams Through The Front Of A Bakery, Injuring 2 People
In what has now become “everyday news” that people – especially those at the NHTSA – are becoming immune to, a Tesla slammed through the front of a bakery on Tuesday in Burlington, Ontario, injuring 2 people.
There has been no word yet on whether or not Autopilot played a role in the accident.
The incident happened at the British Pride Bakery at Roseland Plaza at about 10:30AM on Tuesday, according to Inside Halton. Regional police said that the woman who was driving the vehicle and an employee from inside the shop were both taken to the hospital with injuries.
The incident remains “under investigation”, according to local authorities and has forced the bakery to close at what would be its busiest time of the year.
The bakery’s Twitter account called it a “devastating accident”:
A devastating accident occurred at our Burlington location today.
Thankfully nobody was seriously injured, one employee was taken to hospital.
I’ll have more news as it comes in but at the time of writing, I’ve got no estimated reopening date🇬🇧 pic.twitter.com/Bineqmd2iI

They later Tweeted that the two people who were injured were released from the hospital. The bakery’s Twitter account offered little details about when they would be re-opening: “We are still in the dark on the extent of the challenge ahead and of course this is the very worst time for us to be closed, but we are so relieved everyone is OK.”
One witness described “quite the scene” of local authorities responding after the accident.
Paging NHTSA…
