Microsoft Outlook Hit By Another Global Service Outage

Two weeks after a variety of online services from Microsoft suffered outages for several hours on Tuesday across Western Europe and the Eastern United States, Outlook and Hotmail appear to be having another outage across the US.  Services like Xbox Live, Outlook.com, Skype, OneDrive, and Microsoft’s Windows Store are currently not allowing users to sign into accounts. Zero Hedge has tested a number of accounts, and can confirm that services are experiencing widespread issues.

Microsoft recovered from an hour-long outage earlier this month which affected Microsoft Accounts. The software giant never revealed the root cause of the issue, and it appears to be occurring again today. Microsoft has once again acknowledged the issue through its Xbox Live service status.

“Our engineers and developers are actively continuing to work to resolve the issue causing some members to have problems finding previously-purchased content or purchasing new content,” reads a statement. “Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience.”

No word yet if Russian hackers are involved.

A recent map from downdetectors shows a spike in outage notices.

Complaints on twitter suggest that the outage is global in nature, and not llimited to the US:
