In Nebraska, Fairbury Public Schools has announced it is expanding its drug-testing program to include nicotine. Students who take part in sports and other extracurricular activities are subject to random drug testing. The school system is also looking at placing sensors in school restrooms that can detect vapor from e-cigarettes. Superintendent Stephen Grizzle says smoking and vaping “is reaching epidemic proportions.”
