4 Killed In Fresno After Backyard Mass Shooting; Suspects Still At Large

A shocking shooting rocked the mid-sized California city of Fresno Sunday night when a gunman shot at least 10 people attending a backyard barbecue, killing four and wounding six, according to CNN.

About 40 guests were in attendance at the party, where they were watching football and enjoying their Sunday, when suddenly a number of gunmen interrupted the festivities – they arrived out of nowhere and just started shooting.

Police said they weren’t able to glean any information about the suspect of his vehicle from the guests, who were presumably still traumatized by the shooting. But after the incident, police started going door-to-door in the neighborhood looking for footage that might help them identify the suspect.

There is no immediate indication that the suspects knew their victims.

First-responders arrived at around 8 pm following multiple 911 calls. At the scene, they found “three people down” and several others suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Fresno Police Deputy Chief Michael Reid. Officers immediately began performing CPR.

“My heart goes out to the families that are victims of this senseless violence,” Reid said. “We are going to do everything we can to find out who the perpetrators are and bring them to justice.”

The four men who died on Sunday were between the ages of 25 and 30. Three were pronounced dead at the scene, while one died at a nearby hospital. The six who were wounded suffered from non-life threatening gunshot wounds to their extremities and abdomen, as well as one who suffered a graze.

Fresno hasn’t suffered a mass shooting since April 2017, when Kori Ali Muhammad killed four after a spree shooting in the city.
